Services Designed to Empower
People with Disabilities (PWDs)

At BYSD, we offer a variety of programmes and services aimed at empowering PWDs through holistic care, skill-building, and community engagement.

This Abled Bowling (T.A.B.)

This Abled Bowlers (T.A.B) is set up with a main objective to create bowling environments and bringing bowling to all people with impairment in Singapore, regardless of background, ability, and experience.

We intend to train an elite team of disabled bowlers and eventually lead to the selection of an elite team to represent Singapore in international competitions.

T.A.B represented Singapore in an overseas competitions including the 2018 Asian Para Games in Jakarta, Indonesia. BYSD hopes to provide more platforms for TAB members to play both on professional and on friendly bowling games.

Madrasah untuk Insan Kurang Upaya (MIKU)

BYSD’s religious class named Madrasah untuk Insan Kurang Upaya, started from 2008 to provide a conducive learning space for persons with disabilities (PWDs) to learn the basic knowledge of Islam.

To date, more than 40 PWDs have benefited from the weekly religious class.

Quran Braille (QB)

With Quran Braille programme rarely being offered in Singapore, BYSD currently provide Quran Braille classes to BYSD members so that visually impaired members are still able to benefit from Quran reading classes.

This will also provide an opportunity for those who are keen to learn the Braille language to join in the class and enhance their Al-Quran knowledge.

Project Care

Each BYSD member will be allocated with $200 each financial year to claim for eligible disability-related expenses such as wheelchair repair, walking stick and hearing aid devices.

Services Designed to Empower Youths

At BYSD, we equip youths with meaningful opportunities to lead, grow, and make a difference. Through leadership programmes, volunteering initiatives, and skills-building workshops, we nurture compassionate leaders dedicated to empowering People with Disabilities (PWDs) and fostering inclusive communities.
